Job summary

Island Health's Department of Anesthesia on Vancouver Island seeks additional energetic Anesthesiologists to join a team of forty members, providing direct clinical care and teaching medical students and residents across Victoria's two tertiary hospital sites.

Eligible candidates hold RCPSC certification in Anesthesiology and are eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC; previous medical leadership experience is an asset. Start date January 1, 2027.

Qualifications

• Royal College certification in Anesthesiology required or equivalent.
• Eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
• Strong CanMEDS performance across medical expert, collaborator and leader.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical anesthesia care across two Victoria hospital sites.
• Teach medical students and residents as part of academic mission.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in an academic department.
