Job summary

Lillooet Tribal Council is seeking an Aboriginal Supported Child Development Support Worker for full-time 35 hours per week to provide one-to-one or small group supports to children with developmental delays or disabilities. • Complete Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check clearance.
• Hold a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Summary:

The ASCD Support Worker applies principles of family-centered practice and inclusion in providing one-to-one or small group supports to children with developmental delays or disabilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Basic early childhood education training, special needs post basic early childhood training.
• Work experience in child care or other community settings and/or recent experience working with children with extra support needs
• Knowledge and understanding of St’át’imc culture.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the ability to use a culturally sensitive and safe framework when working with Aboriginal children, families, and communities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other service providers.
• Responsible for records, file maintenance, and reporting.
• Must be willing to submit to and clear a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
