The ABA Practitioner is a unique position that requires an individual with strong cultural knowledge, appropriate education, and experience to navigate the western ABA field. The goal is to integrate these perspectives to build a culturally based support network for children, youth, and families diagnosed with or suspected of ASD.
This role supports our partnership with Mackenzie Health, which is committed to working alongside our agency to meet the needs of Indigenous children, youth, and families with ASD or suspected ASD. The position reports to the Support Services Supervisor - Clinical Services and is supported by Mackenzie Health’s Clinical Coordinator or a designated Registered Behaviour Analyst.
The ABA Practitioner will conduct holistic assessments and develop treatment recommendations for Indigenous children and youth on the spectrum, applying an Indigenous lens to the work.
This role primarily supports Indigenous families in the east region, with flexibility to serve across the agency’s full catchment area. It involves fostering relationships through networking and capacity building among staff, families, and community partners to support culturally grounded services.
