Job summary

Mercury Transport Inc. is seeking a full-time 60 Ton Master to join our expanding marine operation serving Vancouver Harbour, Indian Arm and Howe Sound. This role offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment with opportunities to lead a team and ensure safe, efficient vessel operations.

The position features a rotational schedule (1 week on, 1 week off) and potential out-of-town accommodations. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to succeed in coordinating crew and shore-based

Qualifications

• Master Limited 60 Ton required.
• Domestic Vessel Safety (Formerly MED A1/A2).
• ROC-M or ROC-MC maritime radio certificate.
• Marine Basic First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the vessel crew meets Mercury Transport Health, Safety and Environmental Standards and follows safe operating procedures.
• Interacts closely with crew and management and manages the day-to-day operation of vessel and crew.
• Communicates with shore-based team to promote efficiency and safety in the entire operation.
• May perform other duties including operating heavy machinery as required.

Requirements

• Master Limited 60 Ton
• Domestic Vessel Safety (Formerly MED A1/A2)
• Restricted Operator Certificate for Maritime Radio (ROC-M or ROC-MC)
• Marine Basic First Aid

Preference Given To

• Master, Limited under 60 GT (60T Ticket) valid in Vancouver Harbour, Howe Sound and Vancouver Island (Victoria to Nanaimo)
• Experience operating jet propulsion vessels
• Candidates with strong communication, supervisory, interpersonal and leadership skills
