Job description

AGT Foods is seeking a 5th Class Power Engineer / Extrusion Operator to join our Regina, SK Extrusion Centre.

Responsibilities
  • Run and maintain a 200hp 150psi steam boiler
  • Maintain ownership of all extrusion systems to achieve a successful production shift
  • Set up and operate all extrusion production line equipment
  • Perform all pre-operational checks for all extrusion production line
  • Ensure that all recordkeeping is accurate, complete, and submitted at end of shift
  • Follow up with Extrusion Lead and go over daily responsibilities
  • Ensure hourly sampling, testing, and recordkeeping of products to be within customer specifications
  • Follow proper cleaning and sanitization procedures for equipment and department
  • Ensure that daily/weekly cleaning and sanitization of the extruder department are completed
  • Monitor utilities, controls, and production rates to assure that all systems are operating within specification to produce the target specification
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure that issues during the shift are being resolved and product is meeting customer specifications, escalating, as necessary
  • Collaborate with Maintenance to ensure that equipment is repaired in a timely fashion, escalating as necessary
  • Review the requirements for production to identify any raw material or packaging inventory concerns and bring them to the Shift Supervisor immediately
  • Facilitate the reduction of all excess waste for product and packaging material
  • Ensure all waste product and packaging recordkeeping is accurate, complete, and submitted at end of shift
  • Proper disposal of all chemicals
