Job summary

Aeolus Staffing Solutions is recruiting a 5-Axis CNC Operator / Programmer for a Newmarket, Ontario manufacturer of precision tooling components. The role requires hands-on 5-axis CNC operation, programming, setup, and inspection to ensure conformance to specifications.

You’ll interpret drawings and CAD data, select tools and fixtures, and troubleshoot machining issues. On-site position with a strong emphasis on safety and quality, commutable to Newmarket.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of hands-on experience operating 5-axis CNC machines.
• CNC programming and setup experience, with the ability to work independently.
• Experience manufacturing mould, die or precision tooling components.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, CAD data and machining tolerances.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, workholding and precision inspection.
• Excellent attention to detail and practical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to reliably commute to Newmarket for an on-site position.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate 5-axis CNC machines to manufacture precision tooling components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and CAD models to plan machining operations.
• Select cutting tools, fixtures, feeds and speeds for each job.
• Perform milling, drilling, tapping and related machining operations.
• Prove out programs, adjust and troubleshoot machining issues.
• Inspect components using probes, micrometers, calipers and gauges to verify specs.
• Monitor tool wear, dimensional accuracy and surface finish during production.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet delivery requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow safety procedures.

Aeolus Staffing Solutions is recruiting a 5-Axis CNC Operator / Programmer for our client, an established manufacturer of precision tooling components for the mould and die industry.

We're looking for an experienced machinist who takes pride in accurate work and can confidently program, set up, operate and inspect complex components.

What You’ll Do

• Program, set up and operate 5-axis CNC machines to manufacture precision tooling components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, manufacturing specifications and CAD models to plan machining operations.
• Select cutting tools, fixtures, workholding arrangements, feeds and speeds appropriate to each job.
• Perform precision milling, drilling, tapping and other machining operations as required.
• Prove out programs, make adjustments and troubleshoot machining issues.
• Inspect components using probes, micrometers, calipers and gauges to verify conformance to specifications.
• Monitor tool wear, dimensional accuracy and surface finish throughout production.
• Work with production and quality teams to resolve issues and meet delivery requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow established safety procedures.
