Job summary

Sea Crest Fisheries Ltd. in Nova Scotia is seeking a 4th Class Power Engineer to operate, maintain and troubleshoot power plant systems, ensuring safe, reliable energy production in a fast-paced environment.

You will handle ammonia-based refrigeration, boilers, and related equipment; supervise daily operations, run startup/shutdown cycles, monitor instruments, and perform routine inspections to support continuous, efficient facility performance.

Qualifications

Interprovincial 4th class power engineer licence is required.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
Strong mathematical ability and problem-solving skills.
Aptitude for mechanical and electrical work with good manual dexterity.
Experience operating refrigeration and boiler equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot power plant systems to ensure safe, reliable energy production.
Perform routine maintenance on ammonia-based refrigeration systems and boilers.
Inspect and monitor temperature and pressure, and adjust equipment for optimal performance.
Assist in supervision of daily operations of refrigeration equipment and boiler systems.
Provide utility services: electricity, heat, and refrigeration for facilities.
