Position Summary

To provide the Plant with a high level of maintenance expertise that ensures departmental downtime meets Company objectives efficiently and to carry out equipment and building repairs as required, while adhering to quality, safety and legislative guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • You will perform all daily inspections set forth by Technical Safety BC, including monitoring (ammonia) refrigeration plant, hot water systems, waste water plant while adhering to food safety and safety guidelines.
  • Call appropriate support companies when required.
  • You would assist and support the Maintenance attendants and mechanics with troubleshooting and repairs according to scheduling to minimize downtime and excessive costs.
  • Assist and support production and sanitation when required.
  • You will respond to all breakdown calls, assess and repair immediately or as quickly as possible, limiting plant/machine downtime.
  • Ensure secondary production equipment such as conveyors, dumpsters and simple machines are maintained as per preventative maintenance program.
  • You'll require good communication skills with Team Members, Supervisors, Managers, and all plant employees.
  • Report all defects, errors in production, machinery which may affect the workplace to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
  • Responsible for completing filing the paperwork, daily work sheets, preventative maintenance logs, finalizing work orders, and other paperwork as required.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and maintain a tidy safe work area.
  • You will need to be able to carry out building repairs with a high level of concentration and alertness.
  • You will have a full understanding of JSA’s, SOP’s and HACCP, BRC or any other food safety compliance’s.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 Education.
  • 4th class power engineering certificate.
  • Post‑secondary education and training, preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.

$37.98 - $37.98 an hour
