Job summary

A leading construction materials company in Oakville is seeking a skilled Millwright to maintain plant equipment and support operations. This full-time position requires a 433A Millwright license, with a preference for 3rd and 4th year apprentices. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical systems, and supporting project work. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces. Position Summary:

As a Millwright with Dufferin Concrete, you'll keep our Burlington–Hamilton plants running safely, reliably and with minimal downtime. You’ll work with a regional maintenance team and support multiple sites through preventative and corrective maintenance, project work and hands‑on troubleshooting. This full‑time, day‑shift role is open to 3rd and 4th year apprentices, with preference given to candidates holding a 433A Millwright license. Your work helps us deliver the concrete results our customers rely on.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain plant production equipment with preventative and corrective maintenance
  • Troubleshoot, repair and overhaul conveyors, pumps, pneumatic systems, dust collectors and compressors
  • Support breakdown response to keep equipment running and reduce downtime
  • Complete project work focused on reliability, process improvement and annual shutdowns
  • Follow technical diagrams, schematics and work procedures to perform safe, accurate repairs
  • Work safely every day, following OHSA regulations, company policies, PPE requirements and lockout procedures
Requirements
  • Open to 3rd and 4th year Millwright apprentices; preference is for a Licensed 433A Industrial Millwright
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and ability to work with various metalworking techniques including welding, cutting and brazing
  • Knowledge of hoisting, rigging and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to diagnose issues with pumps, fans, blowers, belt and screw conveyors, compressors and transmission systems
  • Skilled in reading blueprints, diagrams and schematics
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors, at heights and in confined spaces when required
