Qualifications

• Must be a 3rd Year Apprentice in good standing with AIT.
• Required off-road experience and familiarity with CAT E.T./S.I.S.
• Ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely maintenance of equipment to the highest standards.
• Conduct performance and quality checks as per procedure.
• Execute the company’s safety program and promote safety culture.

Skills

Education

3rd Year Apprentice- Heavy Equipment Technician (Heavy Duty Mechanic) – Off Road/HET

Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Schedule: 10+ Hours per day (day shift), 5 & 2, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week

Location: Shop: 9175 – 14 Street NW, Edmonton, AB

Requirements:

Pre-employment:

• Drug and alcohol testing which may be swab or urine depending on site requirements
• Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
• Fitness to Work Assessment

Heavy Equipment Technician (Heavy Duty Mechanic) Qualifications:

• Current 3rd Year Apprentice
• Apprentices must be in good standing with AIT

• Off Road experience is REQUIRED
• Experience with CAT E.T. and S.I.S. and/or Komatsu is REQUIRED
• Experience with CAT Scrapers is Beneficial
• Ability to read/troubleshoot and diagnose using hydraulic and electronic schematics
• Exceptional organization and cleanliness skills are REQUIRED

Heavy Equipment Technician (Heavy Duty Mechanic) Responsibilities:

• Ensure equipment is maintained at the highest standards, in a timely manner
• Conduct performance and quality checks according to procedure
• Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and overhauls
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
