Job summary

A leading environmental services provider in Canada is seeking a skilled Truck and Coach Technician to perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy trucks and trailers. The ideal candidate will have a valid Ontario 310T Technician Certificate, a minimum of 3-5 years experience, and the ability to ensure safety compliance during repairs. Candidates should be able to work in various weather conditions and possess a strong attention to detail in their work.

Qualifications

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy trucks, trailers, and various fleet equipment.
  • Complete required paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
  • Conduct vehicle safety inspections; identify, record, and report equipment deterioration for replacement or repair
  • Tire inspections, removal and replacements
  • Fuel and wash Company vehicles
  • Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to company safety procedures, and follow established techniques to perform
  • Ensure shop equipment and tools are in safe operating condition
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Company and OSHA Standards
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
  • Assist in maintaining inventory and reporting in M5 program
Requirements
  • Valid Ontario 310T Truck and Coach Technician Certificate OR currently registered as a Level 3 apprentice with Skilled Trades Ontario in the Truck & Coach (310T) trade.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of working experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Basic hand tools and willingness to secure additional tools as needed

  • Ability to follow schedules, instructions, technical manuals and maintenance guidelines, and other procedures associated with the maintenance of the company fleet

Working Conditions

Must work inside and/or outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat. May be exposed to unpleasant sights, smells, and to dangerous and/or toxic substances.

  • Work outside and inside, around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts. Exposure to dampness and humidity, toxic chemicals, exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel.
  • Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, as needed
