Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy trucks, trailers, and various fleet equipment.
- Complete required paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
- Conduct vehicle safety inspections; identify, record, and report equipment deterioration for replacement or repair
- Tire inspections, removal and replacements
- Fuel and wash Company vehicles
- Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to company safety procedures, and follow established techniques to perform
- Ensure shop equipment and tools are in safe operating condition
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Company and OSHA Standards
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Assist in maintaining inventory and reporting in M5 program
Requirements
- Valid Ontario 310T Truck and Coach Technician Certificate OR currently registered as a Level 3 apprentice with Skilled Trades Ontario in the Truck & Coach (310T) trade.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of working experience.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Basic hand tools and willingness to secure additional tools as needed

- Knowledge of all tools required to perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles
- Ability to follow schedules, instructions, technical manuals and maintenance guidelines, and other procedures associated with the maintenance of the company fleet
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers

- Ability to prioritize workload and meet time sensitive deadlines
- Ability to be a self-starter capable of working effectively in a team environment or as an individual contributor

- Ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example: two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting or standing
- Ability to make simple and repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists
- Knowledge of proper lifting techniques
- Ability to follow all company safety policies and procedures
Working Conditions
Must work inside and/or outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat. May be exposed to unpleasant sights, smells, and to dangerous and/or toxic substances.

- Moderate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, grasping/gripping, and pushing/pulling
- Work utilizing personal protective equipment, including hearing protection, safety-toed boot, utility gloves, reflective vest, hearing and eye protection, hard hat, etc.
- Work outside and inside, around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts. Exposure to dampness and humidity, toxic chemicals, exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel.
