Job summary

Leuschen Transportation in Timmins, Ontario, is hiring licensed 310T Mechanics to join our team. Reporting to the Shop Foreman, the Mechanic performs day-to-day preventative and post-incident repairs on a large fleet of commercial vehicles, including school buses, while delivering strong customer service to drivers, dispatchers, managers and government agencies.

Shifts are Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm or 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a wage of $47.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Possess and maintain in good standing a valid 310T License.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Thorough working knowledge of Municipal, Provincial and Federal safety provisions.
• Practical experience in preventative maintenance within the School Bus industry is an asset.
• Ability to work in a team-based, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform Brake and Safety Inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure vehicle inspections are completed monthly and on time.
• Perform service calls and cold starts as required.
• Adhere to safety policies and regulations at all times.
• Complete reports recording problems and work performed.
• Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions; diagnose and determine repairs.

Leuschen Transportation is currently hiring licensed 310T Mechanics to join our team in Timmins. Reporting to the Shop Foreman, the Mechanic is responsible for the day-to-day preventative and post incident repairs of a large fleet of commercial vehicles. This fast paced, but diligent role will diagnose and carry out all repairs for mechanical issues and problems discovered in various commercial School Buses and civilian class vehicles. The incumbent will maintain a strong sense of customer service while interacting with various stakeholders including, School Bus Drivers, Dispatchers, Managers, Peer Mechanics, Apprentices and Governmental Agencies.

Shifts are Monday through Friday - 6:00 am to 3:00 pm or 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Wage: $47.50 per hour

Job Duties

• Perform Brake and Safety Inspections, carry out preventative maintenance
• Ensure all vehicle inspections are completed in a timely fashion each month
• Perform service calls and cold starts as required
• Ensure you have knowledge of our safety policies and adhere to them
• Perform additional vehicle repairs as needed
• Adhere to compliance-based regulations from a Company, Federal, Provincial and Municipal perspective
• Complete reports to record problems and work performed
• Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
• Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace

Qualifications

• Possess and maintain in good standing a valid 310T License
• Valid Driver’s License
• Thorough working knowledge of Municipal, Provincial and Federal safety provisions
• Practical experience in preventative maintenance practices in particular within the School Bus industry an asset
• Ability to work in a team-based, collaborative work environment
