Job description

Tomlinson is looking for a 310T Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair and service mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and components of vehicles.

Job location: 970 Moodie Drive

Shift: Evening shift (2PM-12AM)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups
  • Inspect and test mechanical units, such as engines, transmissions, axles and brake systems, to locate faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair
  • Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools
  • Test and adjust units to specifications for proper performance
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of systems including chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, steering, and fuel, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems
  • Some field work is required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Completion of secondary school is usually required
  • Hold a 310T Heavy Truck / Coach License, or level 3 apprentice
  • Proven mechanical abilities in gas and diesel diagnosis and repair
  • Experience with routine / preventative maintenance operations
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Climbing, bending, crouching, lifting
  • Working in an environment with loud noises such as running trucks, air breaks, horns, power tools, etc.
  • Working both indoors and outdoors
