Job summary

First Student, Inc. is seeking a Licensed 310T Mechanic for our shop serving Mississauga-Wolfedale, ON. Monday through Friday, day shift, with year-round work and competitive pay.

You will maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability, diagnose complex issues, and perform preventive maintenance. ASE testing and training materials are provided, with excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, RRSP matching, and career advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• 310T license required or equivalent diesel/automotive training.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing school buses or heavy vehicles.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Willingness to participate in ASE certification program; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle maintenance, including brakes, engines, suspensions, and transmissions.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and annual maintenance checks.
• Complete work orders accurately and timely.
• Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed.

First Student is now hiring a Licensed 310T Mechanic for our shop serving Mississauga-Wolfedale, ON

Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday, Full-time day shift

About the Technician Position

As a Technician with First Student, you will help maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability.

Technician key responsibilities include:

• Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our passengers.

• Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle maintenance including the repair of brakes and brake inspections, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches and other repairs.

• Perform preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.

• Complete work orders accurately.

• Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed.

Diesel Technician Qualifications

• 310T license and years of diesel or automotive maintenance and repair experience, or equivalent technical school education and experience.

• Vehicle diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

• Valid driver's license required.

• Possession of a mechanic's tool set to complete all assigned duties.

• Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program (training, testing, and bonuses provided).

• Strong computer skills.
