Responsibilities

Hourly Rate: $40.80

Location: Ajax, Ontario

Schedule : Full-time, Day Shift (No evenings!)

As a Licensed 310T Mechanic with First Student, you will help maintain and repair school buses to ensure vehicle readiness & safety.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair with minimal supervision (brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmissions, etc.).
  • Remove and reinstall mechanical components.
  • Participate in 90-day preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and annual inspections.
  • Issue semiannual and annual MTO certificates using the Drive On program.
  • Complete work orders accurately using individual tablets; maintain records of parts and labor.
  • Respond to road calls and emergency services as needed.
  • Adhere to First Student standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other maintenance duties as required.
  • Participate in ASE certification program (training, testing, and bonuses provided).
Qualifications
  • Valid 310T Mechanic license (required).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Appropriate mechanic's tool set.
  • Strong problem-solving and computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
