Job summary

Emcon Services Inc. is seeking a 310T Certified Lead Hand Technician for our New Dorchester Shop location. You will oversee maintenance and repair of the city’s highway fleet, supervise work, manage parts inventory, and coordinate with the Mechanical Superintendent.

A strong background in diagnostics, hydraulics, and welding is valued. Afternoon shifts may vary with operations. Reporting to the Mechanical Superintendent, this unionized role offers pay per the collective agreement; lead hand

Qualifications

• Registered 310T Technician preferred.
• Valid Ontario Driver’s License.
• Grade 12 education preferred.
• Experience with Preventative Maintenance Programs.
• Experience with engine/emission diagnostics, electrical diagnostics and repair.
• Experience with heavy truck hydraulics, brakes, suspension and steering.
• Fabrication and welding experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of trade safety practices.
• Experience with heavy-duty equipment such as gravel trucks, snow-plow trucks and related attachments.
• Willing to work overtime and respond to vehicle breakdowns.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and upkeep of all vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment.
• Servicing and repairing highway maintenance fleet per provincial requirements.
• Assisting with shop scheduling and assigning work.
• Supporting inventory and ensuring parts and equipment are available.
• Assisting with quotes, processing repairs, and tracking purchase orders and invoices.
• Supporting troubleshooting and ensuring work is completed within timelines.
• Tracking repair time and completing work orders accurately.
• Maintaining communication with team members and management.
• Other duties as assigned.
