Job summary

Sid Grabell Contracting (SGC) in the Niagara Region is seeking a 3rd or 4th Year 309A Electrical Apprentice to join our team, with exposure to industrial and commercial electrical systems, power distribution, underground installations, high‑voltage testing, and facilities maintenance.

You will assist licensed electricians, troubleshoot safely, and apply the Ontario Electrical Code and Ontario Health and Safety Act.

Qualifications

• Hands-on electrical apprenticeship experience a must.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, organized, and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems (panels, transformers, motors, MCCs, conduit, lighting, PLCs).
• Install and assist with underground conduit, vaults, and pole base installations.
• Support licensed electricians in troubleshooting safely and efficiently.
• Learn and apply Canadian Electrical Code and Ontario Electrical Safety Code standards.
• Work with team members and subcontractors to complete projects on time.
• Follow Ministry of Labour and company safety policies and complete required documentation.

About the Role

Sid Grabell Contracting (SGC) is a well-established industrial and commercial electrical contractor in the Niagara Region. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a 3rd or 4th Year 309A Electrical Apprentice to join our team.

This role is ideal for a motivated, safety-conscious apprentice who wants exposure to industrial and commercial electrical systems, power distribution, underground installations, high-voltage testing, and facilities maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, including panels, transformers, motors, MCCs, conduit, lighting, and PLCs
• Install and assist with underground conduit, vaults, and pole base installations
• Support licensed electricians in troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues safely and efficiently
• Learn and apply Canadian Electrical Code and Ontario Electrical Safety Code standards
• Work with team members and subcontractors to complete projects on time
• Follow Ministry of Labour and company safety policies and complete required documentation

Qualifications

• 3rd or 4th-year electrical apprentice with hands-on experience
• Enrolled or eligible to continue apprenticeship toward 309A licence
• Working knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
• Familiarity with the Ontario Health and Safety Act
• Self-motivated, organized, and reliable
• Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record
• Own hand tools

Assets (not required but preferred):

• Industrial or commercial electrical experience
• Exposure to power distribution, underground conduit, vaults, pole base installations, MCCs, PLCs, or utility systems
