Responsibilities

THE OPPORTUNITY

The UGDSB is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team for a temporary full-time opportunity in the capacity of Administrative Office Assistant – Principal of Program.

Location: Grant Evans Education Centre (40 Amelia St, Orangeville, ON)

FTE and Hours: 1.0 FTE; 35 hours per week

Hourly Pay Rate: $24.26 - $29.31 per hour, plus applicable vacation pay in accordance with the ESA; wage rate effective September 1, 2025

Start Date: As soon as possible

End Date: Unknown end date

Board Information: 12-month position; temporary; full-time; Office, Clerical and Technical (OCT) Union

Reporting to the Principal of Program, the Administrative Office Assistant – Principal of Program is responsible for providing confidential administrative and financial support to the Principal of Program. This role supports professional learning activities, budgets, financial reconciliation and works collaboratively with multiple departments to ensure effective delivery of services and resources.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records for the Program Services department
  • Track projects funded by the Ministry and prepare required reports
  • Responsible for departmental purchasing, generating PCard statements, third-party invoicing, reimbursements, cheque requests, deposits, salary recoveries and journal entries
  • Order, track and distribute supplies, technology, books and program services
  • Coordinate event bookings and professional learning
  • Organize meetings, room bookings, agendas and minute taking
  • Other duties as assigned
Experience and Qualifications
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent education and experience deemed equivalent by the Board
  • Experience and working knowledge of budget and accounting practices
  • Good understanding of Board purchasing and accounting policies and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal departments and external vendors
  • Excellent computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and the ability to use a variety of computer applications and database.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to confidentiality at all times
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with others in a professional, respectful, equitable and inclusive manner.
