Lakeridge Health Corporation invites qualified Instructors to join our Central East Prehospital Care Program as an ACP instructor. This casual part-time position involves delivering training, developing curriculum, and coordinating with allied services across multiple sites.

Reporting to Clinical Paramedic Programs managers, you’ll travel between client service sites and contribute to innovative, safety-focused education that supports our healthcare network in Durham Region.

Competenze

• Advanced Care Paramedic certification or equivalent required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to initiate, organize and prioritize to function independently.
• Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint and online teleconferencing.
• BCLS Instructor Certification strongly recommended.
• Teaching or facilitation experience in healthcare education required.
• Commitment to LH safety programs and core values.
• Experience in clinical education settings is desirable.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Managers - Clinical Paramedic Programs, you will represent Central East Prehospital Care Program (CEPCP) to our allied agencies (Paramedic Services/Paramedics, Fire Services/Firefighters, Industrial responders, Hospital staff and Public Access defibrillation sites/staff) displaying courtesy, respect and sensitivity. Travel is required between our client service sites.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and experienced Instructors to join our team. In this position you will have the opportunity to use your extensive knowledge and expertise to help us develop, implement and maintain innovative practices that will meet the current and future needs of the Base Hospital and Lakeridge Health.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Advanced Care Paramedic, or equivalent
• Proven effective communication and interpersonal skills;
• Demonstrated ability to initiate, organize and prioritize to function independently with minimal supervision;
• Demonstrated proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint & online Teleconference platforms;
• Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario, BCLS Instructor Certification strongly recommended;
• Demonstrated teaching or facilitation experience in a college, paramedic or healthcare service, base hospital, or other clinical education setting is required.
• Must have satisfactory performance record;
