Job summary

Lakeridge Health Oshawa & Bowmanville seeks a Radiology Technologist to produce radiographs and CT images, assist Radiologists, and ensure patient comfort and safety. The role requires CMRT0 guidelines and CAMRT/OAMRS knowledge, with on-site work across shifts.

Open to qualified OPSEU staff; includes regular full-time status with day, evening, night, weekend, and on-call scheduling. This position supports the Diagnostic Imaging Services program in the General X-Ray/CT department.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a recognized Medical Radiation Sciences program.
• Must have CMRITO license.
• Demonstrated knowledge of radiographic, fluoroscopic examinations and CT techniques; record keeping.
• Proven ability to use varied X-Ray, CT, Fluoroscopy equipment to provide high quality images.
• Proven effective communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to assess requests and prioritize them for patient care.
• Proven ability to adapt standard work procedures to emergencies.
• Must be able to work all shifts on short notice, stand-by call and be on site within 30 minutes.
• CAMRT membership, preferred.
• Satisfactory performance record.

• Understanding of safety programs and participating in in-services.

Responsibilities

• Produce radiographs and CT images per exam requests.
• Store images and record them as required to complete examinations.

• Rotate into other radiographic modalities as needed.
• Participate in student/technologist training and related duties.

This position is open to all qualified OPSEU staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 2 September 2026 and closing at 11:59 pm on 10 September 2026.

The Technologist is responsible for producing radiographs and computed tomography images with accountability to storing images and recording them as required to complete examinations requested by medical staff in accordance with the procedures set out in appropriate manuals; assisting the Radiologist in the performance of their procedures and ensures patient comfort and safety; maintaining technical competence as required under the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) guidelines and the requirements of the C.A.M.R.T. and/or O.A.M.R.S.; rotation into other radiographic modalities; participation in student/technologist training and completion of other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of all radiographic, fluoroscopic examinations, computed tomography techniques, pathology and record keeping required to operate in the Diagnostic Imaging Department;
• Proven ability to use varied X-Ray, CT, Fluoroscopy and ancillary equipment to provide high quality diagnostic images for the Radiologist;
• Proven effective communication, organizational and interpersonal skills;
• Proven ability to assess requests and prioritize them to ensure excellent and prompt patient care;
• Proven ability to adapt standard work procedures to emergency situations;
• Must be able to work all shifts on short notice, take stand-by call and be on site within 30 minutes;
• CAMRT membership, preferred;
• Must have satisfactory performance record;
