Job summary

Vedder Middle School seeks a part-time Supervision Assistant to monitor student behaviour and assist during non-instructional time. You will work with staff to maintain safety and order, and support students under the Principal's direction.

Qualifications include Grade 10+, six months with children, First Aid, and strong communication and teamwork skills. This on-site role requires patience, diplomacy, and inclusive approach for students, including those with special needs.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Over six months' experience working with children.
• A valid Safety Oriented First Aid Certificate.
• Ability to extend and model patience, care, tolerance and understanding.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to perform individually and as part of a team.
• Ability to use tact, diplomacy and human relations skills for frequent contacts of a difficult, specialized or sensitive nature for such purposes as influencing, persuading or securing the co-operation of others when dealing with the public, parents, staff and students.
• Ability to work with special needs students.

Responsibilities

• Reports safety and discipline concerns to principal or designate.

Shift (subject to change): 12:30pm to 1:30pm

Hours per Day/Week: 1 hour per day / 5 hrs per week
