Job summary

A regional family service provider in Timmins is seeking a Full-time Child & Youth Worker for its Residential Programs. The role involves administering therapeutic programs, monitoring activities, and providing support to children and youth. Applicants should hold a diploma or degree in Social Services, Human Services, or Nursing, and demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills. Bilingualism in English and French is required, along with a valid G driver's license. This position requires availability for a rotating schedule, including night shifts.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of an accredited diploma or degree in relevant fields is preferred.
  • Must be available to work a rotating schedule including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates are required.
  • A valid G driver’s license and use of your own vehicle is necessary.

Responsibilities

CHILD AND YOUTH WORKER

Full-time Position in Timmins

(FW Schumacher Live-In Treatment Program)

North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services is presently inviting applications for a Full-time Residential Worker to perform all direct work within its Residential Programs for children and youth. Duties include administering the therapeutic program, monitoring and taking part in activities, completing records, logs and inventories, performing building safety and security checks, and providing counseling to residents.

Job Requirements (qualifications And Skills)
  • Successful completion of a diploma and/or degree from an accredited College and/or University in Social Services, Human Services, Police Foundations, Paramedic or Registered Practical Nursing (RPN) is preferred. Personal Support Workers (Eight Month or longer) Certificate may be considered. Full-time students presently active in completing their last year of a diploma and/or degree in Social Services, Human Services or Nursing may be considered.
  • Must be available to work a rotating schedule that includes days, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
  • Previous experience working with children and youth.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is required.
  • Must have a valid G driver’s license and use of your own vehicle.
