Job summary

RBC is seeking a Winter 2027 Student placement in the Global Special Investigations Unit (GSIU) to support financial crime investigations in Ontario. You will gather, prepare and analyze documents to mitigate financial, reputational, regulatory and legal risks under RBC policies.

You will work with the Forensic Accounting and Global Investigations teams on end-to-end case management, data analysis, and process improvements, while developing essential investigative skills in a collaborative,

  • Fulfillment of end-to-end assigned files, including the gathering and reviewing of documents and analysis of account activity, with a focus on loss prevention and intelligence gathering.
  • Independently manage assigned cases or investigative tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion, with a focus on electronic case management.
  • Provide regular case updates to senior team management.
  • Assist with development of new processes or tools to streamline the investigations process or enhance practice management.

Please note:

This posting is for a 4-months Winter 2027 Student placement with a start date of January 2027, and end date of April 2027. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of April 2027 ; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April 2027), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.

Please ensure that you meet these eligibility requirements before applying - candidates who apply but are found to be ineligible are not able to be considered.
