2025 Mentorship Oshawa Esports Lounge Supervisor Mentorship

JOB TYPE: Full-Time
LOCATION: Oshawa
REPORTING MANAGER: Esports Lounge Coordinator

SALARY: $20.00/hr

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is for the 2025 academic year and will begin in late August 2025. This position provides support to the Esports Lounge Coordinator by overseeing daily site and staff management of the revitalized DCSA Esports Lounge.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Be on time and ready to work when scheduled and responsible as a key holder.
  2. Monitor the Esports lounge while on duty.
  3. Support Esports lounge staff.
  4. Provide the Esports coordinator support on daily operations, such as after-hours support.
  5. Assist the Esports coordinator on short-term and long-term plans for the lounge by providing insight and second opinions.
  6. Assist in updating and creating policies and procedures that will support staff and enhance the student experience.
  7. Take leadership when the Esports coordinator is offsite or unavailable.
  8. Ensure all equipment is checked out and all participants are signed in.
  9. Process payment through POS system when applicable.
  10. Keep the Esports lounge neat and organized.
  11. Assist in maintaining an updated inventory of video games and systems, equipment, and supplies.
  12. Notify the manager of any equipment, repairs, or purchases required.
  13. Attend regular Esports lounge staff meetings.
  14. Keep an accurate record of hours worked and submit timesheet when due.
  15. Plan, implement, and review Esports related events.
  16. Ability to speak and communicate about the DCSA, its values, mission, and services and support our front office and event team.
  17. Assist Esports Coordinator with updating the Discord server to improve student experience and server functionality.
  18. Assist Esports Coordinator with updating ggLeap software to improve student experience and software functionality.
  19. Assist Esports Coordinator in establishing partnerships with both internal and external organizations.
  20. Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Must have graduated from a full-time Durham College program within 2 academic years.
  2. Knowledge of video games and gaming systems (Console and PC) including their connectivity and capability.
  3. Knowledge of gaming console and PC repair is considered an asset.
  4. Knowledgeable about the DCSA and the Esports Lounge.
  5. Knowledgeable about Discord and its functionality.
  6. Knowledge about streaming and stream setup is considered an asset.
  7. Effective communication skills.
  8. The ability to multitask.
  9. An outgoing personality.
  10. Excellent communication skills.
  11. The ability to work in a team and independently.
  12. The ability to solve problems.
  13. Availability to occasionally work nights and weeknights.
