Job summary

A local health organization in Sioux Lookout is seeking a Public Health Nurse to support health programs aimed at protecting and promoting health within the community. Ideal candidates will have a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario, and possess strong teamwork skills. Job description

The successful candidate will support various Public Health programs that protect and promote health. As a local and regional team member contributing to the successful implementation of NWHU’s strategic plan. The Public Health Nurse works within a team(s) to provide services and collaborate with community members and within community partners for planning, implementing, and evaluating Public Health programs.

Qualifications
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing, or eligible to register within the Province
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, BScN
  • Current cardio‑pulmonary resuscitation certification
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of, and/or experience with, principles of adult and child education, social determinants of health, and population health promotion an asset
  • International Board‑Certified Lactation Consultant would be an asset
  • Travel required with position

Salary:$40.18 – $56.79 per hour, in accordance with the Ontario Nurses’ Association Contract (ONA).
