A regional health authority in Winnipeg is seeking a Community Outreach Worker for Sage House. This role focuses on providing support to women involved in the sex trade through outreach and education. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of community work experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to cultural safety. Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Outreach Worker will offer early intervention for women involved in the sex trade through empathetic first response street level engagement through outreach services. The worker will also provide referrals and transitions to other services, continue to build/consolidate partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders, and provide preventative activities such as education in the community. The worker will also be expected to staff the drop‑in, attend all programs and department staff meetings and relevant Mount Carmel Clinic committees. In addition, the incumbent will be required to perform household duties on a rotating basis or as needed, including laundry services, food preparation, and cleaning.
