Job summary

Maarut is seeking a Systems Testing/QA Specialist – Intermediate to join our Toronto team. You will design test cases, execute diverse testing types, and coordinate with developers to ensure quality across web, mobile, and cloud platforms.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of testing experience, strong SDLC knowledge, and hands-on use of JIRA, ALM, UFT/Selenium, and accessibility testing. Hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Certification in Software Quality Engineering or an equivalent credential is considered a strong asset.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience performing testing for large-scale applications across on-premise, web, cloud, and mobile platforms.
• Experience executing testing activities and coordinating with team members to ensure timely delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and strong analytical abilities for business processes, web UI design and accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver detailed test cases and test scripts aligned with business requirements.
• Execute testing activities across functional, regression, integration, system, performance, usability, and UAT tests.
• Maintain accurate records of test discrepancies and defects and provide timely reports.
• Develop and implement automated testing frameworks and scripts using tools such as UFT, Selenium, Cucumber, Serenity (BDD).
• Collaborate with project teams to create/manage test data and validate business processes.
• Support continuous improvement of QA practices within Agile, DevOps, and traditional environments.

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, SoftwareEngineering, or a related discipline. Certification in Software QualityEngineering or an equivalent credential is considered a strong asset.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience performing testing forlarge-scale applications, including on-premise, web solutions, cloud-basedintegrations, and mobile platforms.
• Experience executing various testing activities andcoordinating with other team members as required to ensure alignment and timelydelivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and stronganalytical abilities in understanding business processes, information systems,web UI design and accessibility.
• Hands-on experience with all types of testing: Functional,Integration, Regression, and User Acceptance Testing—across web-based, mobile,and cloud platforms.
• Experience with API and AODA testing is considered anasset.

Technical Capabilities:

• Strong experience in executing test cycles, analyzingresults, and managing the full defect lifecycle using tools like OpenText ALM,OpenText Octane, JIRA, X-Ray, Confluence, etc.
• Experience in utilizing automated testing using tools suchas Micro Focus UFT, TOSCA, Selenium, etc.,
• Strong understanding of the System Development Life Cycle(SDLC) and experience working within Waterfall, Agile (Scrum), and Hybridenvironments
• Previous experience in executing testing activities onspecialized platforms including: AI based solutions, ServiceNow, Salesforce,SAP, or equivalent would be considered a strong asset.
• Demonstrated capability in analyzing business requirementsand user stories to design test scenarios, develop test cases and scripts,prepare test data, and assess results for quality assurance reporting.

Requirements

• Support the implementation of quality assurance processesand contribute to the continuous improvement of testing practices within Agile,DevOps, and traditional environments
