Job summary

School District No.43 (Coquitlam) invites applications from qualified candidates for a 1.0 FTE temporary part-time Speech Language Pathologist.

The district serves Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra, with about 4,400 employees and 32,000 students. The role involves direct and consultative support, collaboration with school teams, education assessments, and contribution to individualized plans within a District Tiered Intervention framework.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
• CHCPBC registration or eligibility.
• Provide 2–3 current references, one of which is your current supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultative and direct support to students for speech, language, and communication difficulties.
• Collaborate with school-based teams and Student Services staff.
• Support ELL and Indigenous learners; work with high and low incidence students.
• Provide in-depth education assessment services.
• Advise on educational placement and programming.
• Assist with designing and evaluating Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Assist with the District Tiered Intervention framework.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

• A master's degree in Speech Language
• Pathology. Must be registered with the College of Health and Care
• Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
• Please provide 2-3 current references. Please note that one reference needs to be your current supervisor.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide Consultative And Direct support to students for the prevention, identification, and treatment of speech, language, and communication difficulties.
• Communicate and work collaboratively with other professionals, including school-based teams and Student Services staff.
• Support students with both high and low incidence exceptionalities, English language learners (ELL), and Indigenous learners.
• Provide in-depth education assessment services.
• Provide information and consultation to school personnel regarding educational placement and programming.
• Assist with designing and evaluating individual education plans.
• Assist with the District Tiered Intervention framework.
