Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board is seeking a Designated Early Childhood Educator to partner with a Catholic classroom teacher in planning and delivering a full-day early learning program that supports faith initiatives within a Catholic classroom setting.

The position is 10 months per year, 7 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with duties including supervision of groups of students and implementing age-appropriate Catholic programming while adhering to ministry guidelines and SMCDSB

Qualificações

• Two-year ECE Diploma and active COE registration.
• Six months childcare experience in a childcare or educational setting.
• Current CPR and First Aid certificates.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Principal, the Designated Early Childhood Educator will partner with the Catholic classroom teacher to plan and implement a full day early learning program supporting faith initiatives within a Catholic classroom setting and provide supervision and age appropriate Catholic programming for groups of students.

This is a 10 month per year position, working 7 hours per day, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm.

Required Qualifications

• A two-year Early Childhood Education Diploma and proof of registration and good standing with The College of Early Childhood Educators (photocopy of registration certificate required)
• Minimum of six months childcare experience in a childcare or educational setting
• Current CPR and First Aid Certificate (photocopy of certificates required)

Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of Ministry of Education full day early learning program and related legislation; knowledge of SMCDSB related polices and procedures.
• Proven ability, experience and skill in working as a member of a team.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and in a sensitive, courteous manner with children, parents, staff and the general public
• Understanding of commitment to confidentiality.
• Proven ability to deal with classroom management, stressful and emergency situations.
• Demonstrated experience in successfully designing, planning and implementing age appropriate Catholic programs.
• Basic computer skills, strong organization and time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and move/carry equipment for program, and must be able to physically assist children as required and repetitive bending.

• Proof of registration in the College of Early Childhood Educators.
