A global leader in materials science is looking for a Senior Sourcing Category Lead to handle indirect sourcing initiatives across the Americas, particularly in Brazil. The role requires fluency in Portuguese and English, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in Excel and PowerBI. Huntsman’s Procurement is now searching for a new energized self-driven Senior Sourcing Category Lead – Americas Indirect, who under minimum supervision will 1) Lead assigned indirect categories in North America, 2) Lead Indirect Sourcing initiatives in Spanish-speaking LATAM countries, as required, 3) Lead all Indirect Sourcing Categories for the Brazil operations, 4) Support the Direct Sourcing needs when required, and 5) Follow established procurement policies and procedures to optimize overall value for Huntsman.
As the Senior Sourcing Category Lead – Americas Indirect, you will:
CATEGORY MANAGEMENT. Support the Indirect Procurement Manager to implement and manage the Indirect Category Strategies in Brazil and other countries in the Americas, as assigned, through the 7-steps of the Strategic Sourcing Methodology adopted by Huntsman.
CATEGORY SOURCING. Support the Indirect Procurement Manager by collecting and analyzing the business requirements, key cost drivers, supplier capabilities and industry trends to develop and implement category sourcing strategies that will optimize overall value for Huntsman while ensuring supply and quality.
STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT. Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships across the Americas region to ensure business alignment with the category sourcing strategies and ensure continuous improvement of supplier performance.
NEGOTIATION. Negotiate supply agreements and contracts within the mandate and in line with internal procedures, terms and conditions, expected service levels, quality requirements and financial conditions.
CONTRACT MANAGEMENT. Create supply agreements in line with legal guidelines. Ensure supplier contracts are approved, stored and maintained according to internal procedures.
SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT. Under the supervision of the Indirect Procurement Manager, lead the development and implementation of the Supplier Relationship Management program for the Indirect Categories to develop and grow relationships between new and existing key suppliers and key business stakeholders to ensure long term value for Huntsman.
COMPLIANCE. Understand and adhere to the organization's policies and procedures and relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct. Ensure that goods and services are supplied on time, on specification, from approved sources and in compliance with all relevant regulations and internal requirements.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT. Continuously develop skills and capabilities by participating in formal and informal training, seeking out coaching and mentoring support and by developing industry understanding of technology, best practices and regulation.
ORGANIZATIONAL INTEGRATION. Support integration and collaborative savings delivery from a Purchasing perspective related to Huntsman Merger & Acquisition activities
Fluency in Portuguese and English
5+ years related experience with a college degree OR 10+ years of highly relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree
Proven ability to work in teams (direct people management not required)
Stong enthusiasm and professionalism for representing Huntsman externally and in supplier negotiations.
Advanced knowledge of Windows-based PC systems, especially Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, graphs), PowerBI, and PowerPoint
Ability to understand and use key financial indicators (TCO, EBITDA, ROI, payment terms, savings measures, mark-up setting, etc.)
Experience implementing TCO initiatives (e.g., vendor-managed inventory, consignment, buy-back programs, supply base rationalization, SKU optimization, sustainability initiatives, summary invoicing)
Ability to travel up to 20%, including internationally
Working knowledge of Spanish
Experience negotiating US contracts under US and LATAM laws
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree a plus)
Professional certifications: C.P.M., CPSM, CPSD, CPCM, CCCM strongly preferred; CSCP, CPIM, CLTD also a plus
Experience in petrochemical or heavy industrial purchasing; distribution warehouse operations experience a plus, ideally in an international environment
Working knowledge of SAP and Ariba
Experience with Supplier Relationship Management programs and stakeholder engagement across multiple countries
