The Role

We’re looking for a Senior React Native Engineer to join our major rebuild of Skip’s mobile app (iOS + Android) and help build a consumer‑grade, high‑polish experience similar to Chime, Robinhood, or Coinbase — but designed for small business owners and entrepreneurs.

You’ll be one of the leads (or the main lead) for the mobile app, collaborating closely with the existing engineering team, design and product, and the founder / CEO (Ryder) to ship an entirely new mobile experience from the ground up.

This is a high‑impact role where your work will touch hundreds of thousands of people daily.

What You’ll Do

• Architect and rebuild Skip’s mobile app from scratch using React Native
• Lead development of our four core tabs: Home, Discover, Workspace, and Cofounder (AI chat)
• Implement native UI components, gesture systems, animations, and smooth navigation
• Build high‑performance chat interfaces for AI interactions
• Integrate with Skip’s backend (Node / TS) and web tools
• Build token‑secure WebView bridges for launching web features inside native shell
• Own performance, architecture, and long‑term maintainability
• Collaborate with product + design to move quickly and iterate
• Ship new features weekly on a fast‑moving roadmap
• Help uplevel the engineering team and establish mobile best practices

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of professional experience with React Native
• Strong background building and shipping consumer‑grade mobile apps
• Deep experience with animations, gesture handlers, and high‑performance UI
• Comfortable owning architecture end‑to‑end
• Experience with WebViews + bridging native / web interactions
• Strong product sense and ability to work directly with design
• Bias toward execution — we ship fast and iterate
• Startup mentality: scrappy, ownership‑driven, and obsessed with user experience

Nice to Have

• Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Firebase
• Experience with Stripe integrations
• Experience with AI or chat‑based interfaces
• Prior startup (Series A–C) experience
