Purpose of Position: The purpose of the Head of Teleoperation, LATAM role is to develop the Teleoperation mining systems business for Hexagon Mining within LATAM. Plan, manage and strategically analyze all aspects of sales, services and support to customers to implement remote intelligence centers, aiming for operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. You will need to establish and manage dealer, agent, and related entity relationships. Responsible for achieving business targets set on an annual basis. Developing business plans and strategies in liaison with stakeholders, to contribute to the development of project deployment, customer service and technical support service for the regions. Establishing business opportunities for the Mining business in the region of responsibility, to maintain and build strategic relationships with existing and potential customers and industry contacts.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Achieve the sustainable growth of Teleoperation projects in LATAM subregions, by supporting general managers, BDM and services and support managers on all relevant aspects of Teleoperation area.
- Manage sales, support and service operations of the remote intelligence centers.
- Implement processes, define goals and promote the growth/development.
- Manage project implementation processes and best practices on Teleoperation projects.
- Support technical solutions on pre-sales activities.
- Monitor the quality of services provided to customers through reports.
- Develop and cultivate relationships with current and prospective dealers, agents, related Hexagon entities and third parties (i.e. key account figures) who have influence over the markets and regions targeted for business opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to continue growth of Hexagon Mining product portfolio in each country/region/developing market.
- Key account management – ensure a high level of customer satisfaction with Hexagon’s services and solutions to enable growth of the mining business globally.
- Take ownership of key account issues – resolve customer issues proactively, engaging with other stakeholders as required, ensuring ongoing issues are escalated to the appropriate channels to resolve in a timely manner.
- Identify new regions for business development opportunities, performing market analysis for these regions to ensure the direction is aligned with the business and products and solutions being developed.
- Manage sales leads through to closure and monitor against approved budgets to ensure financial results are on, or ideally above, target and implement plans to counteract deviations.
- Perform presentations to existing and potential customers.
- Present and demonstrate the mine systems product range and associated benefits for customers.
- Negotiate sales contracts and associated install and commissioning milestones.
- Develop financial and personnel budgets, with input from direct reports, for approval by senior management.
- Identify, foster and leverage relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and industry contacts supporting the attainment of the goals for the business.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the region, industry, and customer needs and requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the team to provide insights into client and industry product requirements as well as potential developments which will set Hexagon Mining apart from its competitors.
- Represent Hexagon Mining in industry events and tradeshows and collaborate with the Product Management & Marketing team, and Sales & Account Management teams to prepare for such events.
- Represent the business in industry associations where appropriate to advance the interests of the Hexagon Mining Systems Unit.
- Prepare periodic sales reports and forecasts as required.
- Liaise with Finance department for management of receivables.
- Compliance with Hexagon’s Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures, participation in audits and compliance with instructions given in respect to the health and safety of himself/herself and the safety of others.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time.
Knowledge and Experience - Required:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering (Mining/Electrical/Electronic/Computer Science) or equivalent – highly desirable.
- Technical knowledge on SW, technology for mining, automation - highly desirable.
- Proven successful track record on mining industry - highly desirable.
- Commercial experience dealing with technical products and solutions – highly desirable.
- Professional communication skills in English/Spanish/Portuguese.
Knowledge and Experience - Desired:
- Telecommunications and high-performance network.
- Teleoperation processes and operations.
- Processes and operations in risk areas such as tailing dams and containment dams.
- Knowledge and experience in hardware and embedded technology.
- Knowledge and experience in software engineering.
- Strong presentation skills especially to groups and forums of customers.
