To independently drive, manage, or participate in negotiation with client, business partner, and/or supplier in Latin America or other Portuguese speaking countries;
To draft, review, interpret, or prepare contract and other legal documents for all kinds of business deals;
To initiate draft and optimize compliance policies (including anti-bribery, export control) which are applicable to the company in line with the law update and corporate needs, and prepare and provide related trainings;
To conduct legal research on the laws and regulations on commercial or compliance related matters in LATAM region;
To support resolution of disputes which occur in LATAM regions when needed;
To initiate and craft new types of templates to cater to the business needs;
To provide auxiliary support as instructed from time to time related to the legal and compliance affairs.
Job Requirements:
Major in law, with bachelor or above;
Native in Portuguese and professional in English;
Solid working experience of 8 to 15 years in a reputable law firm, international MNCs, or high-growth start-up, with at least 3 years of experience in the industry of TMT, internet, cloud, or other information technology business, and has solid experience and exposure on compliance related matters;
Strong drafting, negotiation, and legal analytical skills;
Sophisticated in communicating and working in a cross-functional team to achieve common goals;
Capable of appreciating and grasping concepts and principles of law from multiple jurisdictions;
Capable of identifying and escalating issues timely and appropriately, and of prioritizing and responding to business needs and goals;
Sense of urgency, time priority, and accountability;
Capable and willing to work under pressure;
Detail-oriented;
Willing to travel when needed (within 20%);
Honest and high level of integrity is a must.
