About the position

Join our dynamic and fast‑paced international company operating within the subscription and advisory space as an experienced Financial Controller overseeing our growing business in Latin America. This crucial position will have responsibility for our financial reporting and operations in the region, and will serve as the primary contact in the Finance team on commercial contracting matters in the region. The incumbent will also analyze revenue streams and financial performance, while ensuring compliance with local tax regulations. The position will balance strategic oversight with hands‑on operational tasks, with potential for a growing leadership as the company expands throughout the Americas.

Key Responsibilities
  • The role will report to the Group Financial Controller in the UK to manage accounting process end‑to‑end
  • Manage monthly and year end close processes and reporting for Latin America (currently Brazil and Chile with expectation to expand into the region)
  • Applying local accounting policies and standards to ensure the accuracy and integrity of local financial reporting, and IFRS for Group reporting
  • Ensure timely filing of financial statements and local tax filings alongside external accountants and be the contact point between the Finance team and 3rd party local accounting firms
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with local tax regulations and requirements.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for internal review
  • Manage external audit processes for the region
  • Oversee and manage the financial health of the business’s Latin American operations, including budgeting & forecasting support, cash forecasting and management, KPI reporting and variance analysis
  • Project accounting for Advisory projects, which includes data quality review, invoicing, and revenue recognition
  • Financial control of subscription products, which includes:
    • Loading contracts to the ERP, and creating deferral schedules
    • Invoicing
    • Working with the commercial team on any contract or invoicing queries
  • Monitor, manage and report on subscription and advisory revenue streams, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and reporting
  • Financial reporting on variances of actual performance against plan, and proactively working to resolve any issues that need further investigation within agreed policies
  • Control key expenditures, such as travel expense claims.
  • Ensure adherence to the company’s Procure to Pay company standards and policies
  • Working with Group personnel to innovate and deploy financial and commercial process enhancements
What we are looking for

Required attributes:

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Strong Excel skills and ERP experience; knowledge of Dynamics 365 would be beneficial
  • A highly motivated individual with the ability to work proactively and independently
  • Effective professional communication and organization skills
  • Self‑motivated, resilient, and a capacity to work under pressure
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in an additional language is an advantage.

Desired attributes:

  • Experience in service industries (consulting, legal) and/or subscription businesses (research, data analytics)
  • Commercial contracting experience
  • Experience working with a regional scope, especially in controlling matters across multiple locations in Latin America
