Job Summary:

The Senior Director, Finance – Decision Support provides financial oversight, and leadership to the implementation and integration of new business and leads strategic capacity planning and development as well as value capture and monitoring for new business.

Essential Functions:

  • Plays a strategic role in leading, planning and providing support for implementation and integration activities across finance
  • Organizes and tracks expenses for new joint ventures and M&A opportunities before and after implementation/effective date
  • Oversees the financial modeling, analysis, and internal execution of M&A transactions and new RFP/expansion opportunities
  • Ensures financial stewardship and efficient capital deployment for CareSource’s new entities and assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing financial strategies, deal structures, policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Responsible for directing financial activities associated with achieving success with Request for Proposal (RFP), Certificate of Authority (COA) and other business development activities including value capture calculations and monitoring
  • Create and deploy organizational capacity through focused shared service resources, tools, and technology; build and manage staffing models
  • Responsible for new market builds through development of a sustainable business and staffing plan supported by market leadership
  • Maintain a deep knowledge and understanding of industry changes that will support or impact CareSource’s evaluation of business opportunities
  • Develop pro forma and return on investment (ROI) analyses, in collaboration with the market and business development leadership
  • Support the annual budget and monthly/quarterly forecasting process for applicable region/market; provide necessary region/market specific data to ensure assumptions are reasonable
  • Assist in developing presentations for management meetings and external presentations for Board of Directors meetings
  • Hires, trains, develops, and appraises staff effectively, ensuring a strong, competent, and talented team of high integrity finance professionals
  • Perform any other job duties as requested

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science/Arts (BA/BS) degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent years of relevant experience
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred
  • Ten (10) years of related experience in accounting/finance is required
  • Five (5) years of management experience is required
  • Experience with companies that have both for-profit and not-for-profit entities is desirable
  • Prior healthcare / insurance industry experience a plus
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions a plus

  • Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Statutory Accounting Principles (STAT)
  • Knowledgeable of internal control framework and ability to successfully perform and document owned internal controls
  • Collaborative, with the ability to effectively influence others
  • Fact-based decision maker
  • Strong managerial and team-building skills, with proven track record of hiring and developing high performers
  • A proven track record of achievement and integrity
  • Excellent PC skills, including advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Licensure and Certification:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) FP&A, or related certification is preferred

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • May be required to travel occasionally

Compensation Range:

$130,300.00 - $228,100.00
