Director of Field Development - Brazil
The Director of Field Development will be responsible for evaluating existing and future pheromone products in internal field trials for research, development, and regulatory purposes, and assisting external partners in the development of these products in anticipation of commercial launches.
Partner assistance may include the planning of trials, training of partner personnel, and assistance in trial execution and analysis. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for coordination and collaboration within a network of researchers and partners. The Director will have experience in testing and developing agricultural products. The candidate will be flexible and fulfill other duties as needed and expected in a start-up environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Leads a team of Provivi Scientists
- Develops and executes field development plans to evaluate existing and future pheromone products in internal field trials, including technical positioning and registration trials.
- Evaluate existing and future pheromone product performance under various field conditions.
- Define equipment and application methodology for existing and future pheromone products.
- Support product development timelines providing technical guidance.
- Provides the main technical interface to other functions, including Formulation, Regulatory, and Logistics considering technical topics.
- Connects internal and external subject matter experts, including leading entomology researchers in Brazil to advance pheromone product development.
- Champions the technical voice of the customer, including commercial partners and growers.
- Assists partners with pheromone product evaluations under pre-commercial agreements.
- Launching products under commercial agreements, including collaboration on development plans, value creation trials and any other pre-commercial trials such as demand generation trials.
- Acts as key technical leader between 3rd party collaborators and Provivi supporting technical after sales responses.
- Transfers technical knowledge to partners, including training material, trial results, and reports.
- Develops and manages budgets for Field Development in Brazil.
- Is current on technology and market developments in Brazilian crop protection, including competing pheromone technologies and products.
Qualifications & Skills Include:
- Must Have for this role:
- Prefer 10+ years of R&D experience in agricultural companies.
- B.S, M.S., or PhD in Agriculture-related fields, advanced degree preferred.
- Must be proficient in English.
- Knowledge of the scientific method, field procedures and techniques, and recordkeeping.
- Based in Brazil.
- Availability for national and international travel.
