Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
Digital Imaging Technician (DIT) with film industry experience to join our production team. The DIT plays a critical role in the digital workflow, ensuring that footage is captured, backed up, and processed according to the visual standards set by the director of photography (DP) and post-production team.
Key Responsibilities
- Ingest and securely back up camera footage using best practices and multiple redundancies.
- Manage digital media on set, including organizing, labeling, and verifying data integrity.
- Provide calibrated on-set monitors for accurate viewing and real-time color correction.
- Troubleshoot camera and data-related issues quickly and efficiently.
- Transcode footage into appropriate formats for post-production.
- Maintain and manage all DIT equipment and software.
- Serve as the liaison between the camera department and post-production.
- Collect all production notes and ensure the post production team is briefed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a DIT on professional film, television, or commercial sets.
- In-depth knowledge of digital cinema cameras, color pipelines, and data workflows.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Understanding of color theory, codecs, and file formats.
- Must be tech-savvy, self-directed, and able to solve problems quickly on set.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or certification in Film, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Familiarity with ACES workflows and post-production processes.
- Knowledge of current data storage and asset management systems.
