JOB PURPOSE

The CAPEX Senior Buyer will handle cross regional sourcing activities and will actively contribute to the build and execution plans of the category strategy. In this role, you will strategically manage regional stakeholders and key supplier relationships, in alignment with the category strategy.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Responsible for the negotiation and contracting steps of Large/Complex packages.
  • Negotiate with suppliers for bid clarifications, price reductions, add-ons, deliverables, etc.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact to resolve any discrepancies in vendor performance or misalignments with expected outcomes—such as delivery dates, payment terms, and other process-related matters under your responsibility.
  • Facilitates contracting process.
  • Point of contact between LAW or Onit team and vendor to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Contribute to development of Procurement Plans & lead Execution for Medium/Larger/Complex Capital Projects/Bid Packages.
  • Participate in development of Contracting Strategies, Market Intelligence and Risks mitigations for Large Projects.
  • Ensure that processes are carried out in accordance with company policies and help train/mentor other Capex Buyers.
  • Contribute to category strategies and lead broader Cost Improvement Initiatives.
  • Foster Stakeholder engagement.
  • Drive implementation of regional sourcing decisions and support implementation of regional Capex Processes.
  • Provide inputs to the Capex regional team for strategy development and execution.
  • Build and apply a comprehensive understanding of regional, stakeholder and procurement landscape.
  • Follow established procedures to select suppliers for procurement of non-contracted materials, goods, services and supplies.
  • Administer transactions associated with obtaining goods and services.
  • Handle complex issues and problems without direct supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience on Capex projects within major companies
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Engineering, Administration, Foreign Trade or Economics) or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in capital procurement.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Advanced English (required) and Spanish (preferred).
