Job description

➢ To ensure an acceptable ISO standards of Quality, Environmental, OHSMS and Security Management System and American Petroleum Institute (API) Q1 are maintained in accordance with recognized working practices and the Company’s QEHS&S Manual and Policy.

➢ To ensure safe working practices are maintained at all times.

➢ Checks, repairs, rewinds all electrical motors, magnetic coils, generators, transformers.

➢ Analyses specification of motors prior to proceeding with required test/repair and uses megger tester where necessary to check winding insulation resistance.

➢ Energizes machine and judges mechanical/electrical fault.

➢ Dismantles machine to gain access to motors and bearings for extraction.

➢ Checks winding for correction due to leakage or old age.

➢ Washes equipment/machine and winding with steam and/or electrical solvent to remove corrosion and any deposits.

➢ Forms coils in wire on winding machine, turning the same number of values as old winding for identical performance.

➢ Insulates formed coils with fiberglass tape and varnish.

➢ Locates coils into slots with much care to prevent misplacement and damage to insulation.

➢ Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

➢ Technical Secondary school or equivalent.
