ictjob.be is assisting a client in Antwerp to find a freelance Java Developer to maintain, develop and test Java backend services vital to payment systems. The role is onsite in Antwerp, 40 hours per week, starting in September for 3 months with extension possible.

You will join a SAFe Agile team and help migrate applications to AKS on Azure using Terraform, collaborating with external partners such as Sopra and Worldline, and driving quality through code reviews and automated testing.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java backend development.
• Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Familiar with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Experience in SAFe/ Agile environments.
• Strong testing mindset and code quality focus.

For a customer in Antwerp, we are searching for a freelance Java Developer to working in the Daily Banking team and play a key role in maintaining, developing, and testing Java backend services that are essential to their payment systems. These services are strongly integrated with external partners as well as internally developed applications.

You will also be actively involved in our current modernization program, in which we are migrating our application to a new cloud environment—Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)—using TerraForm.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Architect and Functional Analyst to design a robust solution that fits within the existing IT landscape.
• Integrate with external systems such as Sopra and Worldline to ensure seamless transaction processing.
• Work within an Agile/Scrum team following the SAFe framework.
• Ensure quality by participating in the testing of delivered code.
• Continuously improve the codebase and processes through code reviews, automation, and the implementation of best practices.
