Septentrio in Leuven is seeking a Strategic Business Analyst to translate financial, commercial and operational data into strategic insights. You will split time between business development activities and cross-functional financial analysis to drive product, investment and performance decisions.

You'll build financial models, scenarios and business cases to support pricing, portfolio and growth initiatives across Supply Chain, R&D and executive management.

Qualifications

Strategic Business Analyst

The Job

As a Strategic Business Analyst, you will transform financial, commercial and operational data into actionable insights that support strategic business decisions.

As part of the Finance Business Partnering team, you will be embedded within the Business Development organization for approximately 50% of your time, supporting portfolio, pricing and growth-related decisions. The remaining 50% will focus on strategic and financial analysis across Supply Chain, R&D and Executive Management.

Working across functions, you will develop business cases, financial models and scenario analyses to support decisions on products, investments and business performance.

Your Mission

• Work with Product Managers and Portfolio Managers on Market, Portfolio and Pricing analysis to enable data-based business, investment and pricing decision for Septentrio’s Product Portfolio (50%)
• Facilitate cross-functional decision-making between all Septentrio departments through data-driven insights and a clear understanding of business opportunities, risks and performance.
• Support supply chain performance through analysis of costs, inventory, working capital and planning scenarios.
• Support R&D decision-making through investment analysis, project cost transparency and product lifecycle profitability insights.
• Support executive decision-making through strategic analysis, investment evaluations and clear business insights.
• Strengthen Finance's analytical capabilities through improved reporting, KPIs and business intelligence solutions.

Your Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in business analysis, commercial finance, management consulting or a similar role.
• Strong analytical and financial skills, with the ability to translate data into clear business insights.
• Commercial mindset and a good understanding of business drivers, costs and profitability.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders.
• Experience with financial modelling, business cases and scenario analysis.
• Structured, proactive and collaborative working style.
• Fluent in English.
