At Ciner Glass Belgium, the Utilities Manager leads a multidisciplinary team to ensure reliable operation of critical utility systems supporting our glass manufacturing plant. You will drive maintenance excellence, project execution and cost optimisation across energy and process utilities.
The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration in an international environment, with a focus on safety, reliability and continuous improvement.

Leadership & Team Development
Lead a multidisciplinary Utilities team consisting of engineers, team leaders and technicians, with a focus on mechanical and electrical maintenance
Ensure structured workforce and capacity planning to safeguard the continuity of the department
Select and onboard new team members
Identify training and development needs and actively support further knowledge building within the department
Create clear responsibilities, strong collaboration and ownership within the team
Translate management decisions and company objectives into concrete actions for the teams on the shop floor
Technical Continuity & Maintenance
Take responsibility for the preventive and corrective maintenance of utility systems that are essential to our production processes
Monitor the reliability, availability and optimal performance of technical installations
Ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards
Monitor and follow up on the assembly of new installations, relocations, overhauls and technical modifications
Oversee system protocols, access rights and password management within the department
Ensure accurate technical documentation, archiving and confidential handling of process information
Contribute to internal and external audits
Projects, Investments & Optimisation
Lead and follow up on technical projects within Utilities, ensuring scope, timing, quality and results are achieved
Prepare and evaluate investment proposals, including cost, risk and feasibility analyses
Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings, energy efficiency and process optimisation
Conduct data-driven evaluations and translate insights into concrete improvement actions
Monitor relevant KPIs and take timely corrective action when performance or processes require adjustment
Continuously identify opportunities to make installations, processes and ways of working more efficient and reliable
Budget, Stakeholder Management & Reporting
Prepare, manage and monitor the annual budget for the Utilities department
Manage and coordinate purchasing requirements for technical materials, spare parts and tools
Prepare and analyse monthly reports on activities, performance, costs and improvement initiatives
Build and maintain effective collaboration with Production, Maintenance and other internal departments
Participate in company and management meetings and translate relevant decisions into actions within the department
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers
Report to the Technical Director on performance, key risks, investments, projects, maintenance activities and optimisation opportunities
Closely monitor agreed target completion dates, identify delays or potential delays at an early stage, and clearly report the required corrective actions
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineer, a related technical discipline is preferred. A Bachelor’s degree may be considered where supported by extensive and relevant senior-level industrial experience
Strong technical knowledge of utility systems; experience with or knowledge of HVAC is required
At least 7-10 years of experience in a technical leadership role, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment
The candidate must be capable of understanding and managing critical industrial electrical infrastructure, including MV/LV distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, protection systems and electrical interfaces with major utility equipment
Proven experience in people management and in leading and developing technical teams
Experience with budget management, inventory management and technical purchasing processes
Good knowledge of preventive maintenance plans and maintenance systems
Experience with SAP, maintenance software and other relevant digital systems
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate technical and operational data into concrete actions
Strong organisational skills and the ability to set priorities within a 24/7 technical environment
Strong communication skills and the ability to build connections across different departments, cultures and organisational levels
Comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment
Fluent communication skills in both Dutch and English, written and spoken
Hands‑on, decisive and solution‑oriented, with a strong focus on safety, reliability and continuous improvement
