Description du poste

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Technical Works Manager to optimize fleet intervention projects. In this role, you will ensure that schedules align with production priorities and are executed seamlessly. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong planning and coordination skills, we invite you to join our team and contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our operations.

Within DEME's Fleet Interventions Team, we organize and execute all vessel maintenance, repairs and dry dockings - from medium-sized interventions to large, complex projects that are prepared up to nine months in advance.

As Technical Works Manager, you play a crucial role between a.o. Technical Engineering, Vessel Management and execution teams. Once it is known when a vessel will enter dry dock or undergo repairs, you take the lead in translating technically prepared work packages into feasible, detailed and executable planning and schedules. Your expertise lies in ensuring that everything is planned, aligned, sequenced and prepared so execution can run safely, efficiently and within budget.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on structure, coordination and detail, and who understands that excellent execution starts with outstanding preparation.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Receive and review 'ready to schedule' job packages from technical engineers.

  • Develop integrated schedules, allocating necessary skills, resources, and additional requirements.

  • Oversee the stage gate preparation process and prepare individual schedules for distribution to the Technical Supervisors of the Fleet Intervention project.

  • Monitor daily progress during execution and report on mitigating actions to accelerate tasks.

  • Ensure timely starts by coordinating safety audits, site arrivals, and tool availability.

  • Lead small repair jobs in the absence of the project manager and coordinate technical supervisors.

Your Profile:
  • A technical Master Degree is a must combined with at least 5 years of working experience in a relevant role and context.

  • Strong team player with excellent communication and reporting skills.

  • Proficient in planning tools such as Primavera and Microsoft Project (can be learned on the job as well).

  • Strong technical knowledge in ship repair/conversion.

  • Proactive mindset with exceptional analytical skills and planning abilities.

  • Capable of gathering and summarizing information from various sources.

  • Proven experience in preparing/organizing complex technical projects.

  • Able to build and maintain strong relationships with vessels, vessel management, and subcontractors.

  • Project preparation period is performed from HQ; project execution period is spent abroad on site (ratio preparation to execution is about 3:1).

Our offer
  • A stimulating, innovative workplace with numerous growth opportunities.

  • A people-oriented environment with an interactive health program and a focus on employee wellbeing.

  • An extensive mobility program for a healthy work-life balance.

  • A permanent training track which allows you to develop yourself personally and professionally.
