Progressive is seeking a Software & FPGA Product Assurance Engineer to join its space engineering team in Belgium. You will ensure FPGA and software developments meet ESA/ECSS quality standards and act as the interface between engineering, quality, and customers to guarantee mission-critical system delivery.

You will review documentation, support audits and customer reviews, and verify traceability from requirements through validation, while collaborating with FPGA developers, embedded software

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Telecommunications or equivalent.
• 3+ years in PA/QA/Embedded Software/FPGA in aerospace or defense sectors.
• Experience in regulated engineering environments is desirable.

Software & FPGA Product Assurance Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Software & FPGA Product Assurance Engineer to join our growing space engineering team and support the development of cutting-edge technologies for European space missions.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that FPGA and software developments comply with the highest quality, traceability, and documentation standards required by the space industry and the European Space Agency (ESA). Acting as the interface between engineering, quality, and customers, you will play a key role in guaranteeing the successful delivery of mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

Product Assurance & Quality Management

• Ensure compliance with ESA and ECSS quality standards throughout the development lifecycle.
• Monitor adherence to development processes, quality procedures, and configuration management requirements.
• Manage non-conformities and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Participate in quality audits and customer reviews.
• Verify traceability between requirements, design, implementation, verification, and validation activities.

FPGA & Software Documentation

• Review and validate project documentation, including:
• FPGA Development Plans
• Requirements Specifications
• Design Description Documents
• Verification & Validation Plans
• Test Reports
• Configuration Management Records
• Ensure completeness, consistency, and compliance of technical deliverables.
• Challenge documentation quality and support engineering teams in achieving project requirements.

Project & Customer Support

• Support ESA reviews and milestones including:
• System Requirements Review (SRR)
• Preliminary Design Review (PDR)
• Critical Design Review (CDR)
• Qualification Review (QR)
• Act as a key interface between FPGA developers, embedded software engineers, quality teams, and customers.
• Prepare and deliver quality-related project documentation and reports.
• Participate in customer meetings and technical reviews.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Master's Degree in:
• Telecommunications

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Product Assurance (PA)
• Quality Assurance (QA)
• Embedded Software Development
• FPGA Development
• Aerospace, Space, or Defense industries
• Experience working within regulated engineering environments is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

FPGA Knowledge

A solid understanding of FPGA development principles and deliverables, including:

• VHDL
• Intel Quartus

Hands-on FPGA design experience is not mandatory; however, you must be comfortable reviewing and assessing FPGA-related documentation and processes.
