NVISO Security in Belgium is seeking a senior backend software engineer to design, develop, and scale back-end services using Python and Azure. The role emphasizes secure, maintainable code and cloud-native architectures, with opportunities for innovation within the NVISO Labs team.

Candidates should have 5+ years of software engineering experience, a Master’s degree in CS or related field, and strong English communication.

Tasks

• Designing and developing scalable back-end software and services using (mostly) Python.
• Leveraging Azure cloud services such as Functions, App Services, storage, and identity capabilities to build reliable solutions.
• Designing APIs and integrating back-end components with internal and customer-facing platforms where needed.
• Applying sound software engineering practices to deliver maintainable, secure, and production-ready back-end solutions.
• Troubleshooting performance, reliability, and scalability issues across services and cloud-based workloads.
• Identifying bottlenecks and continuously improving the efficiency, resilience, and observability of back-end systems.

Requirements

General

• You hold citizenship in one of the 32 NATO member states.
• At least 5 years of experience as a software engineer
• A master's degree in computer science or a related technical field
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written

Technical skills

• High proficiency in developing professional Python and/or C# code
• Passionate about best practices regarding reusability, maintainability, security, and testing
• Thorough understanding of computer systems going beyond application development (including operating systems, networking, infrastructure, etc.)
• Experience with Azure-native development, API design, and cloud-based architectures is a plus

• Ability to work independently and keep track of your priorities
• Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills that enable you to work effectively in a collaborative team environment across the entire company
