Médiane Benelux is seeking a Software Engineer specialized in development, automation, and CI/CD for critical railway systems. You will work on platforms requiring high reliability and performance, in a modern DevOps-oriented environment.

Responsibilities include designing robust software specifications, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring high-quality automated testing. Knowledge of embedded Linux and Docker is a plus.

Job Description

As part of the evolution of critical systems in the railway sector, we are looking for a Software Engineer specialized in development, automation, and CI/CD. You will work on platforms with high requirements in terms of reliability, performance, and quality, within a modern DevOps-oriented environment.

Software Specification & Architecture

1. Collaborate with architects to define clear and robust software specifications
2. Contribute to system architecture with a focus on CI/CD integration and automation
3. Participate in design reviews, ensuring compatibility with deployment pipelines and DevOps practices

Development, Automation & Testing

1. Develop software components primarily in Python, C#, and C++
2. Design and implement automation scripts (testing, deployment, tooling) in Python
3. Contribute to the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or equivalent)
4. Ensure quality through automated testing (unit, integration, validation)

CI/CD & Toolchain Ownership

1. Set up, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines
2. Manage and evolve the software toolchain (build, testing, deployment)
3. Ensure best practices in version control (Git/GitLab, branching strategies, pipeline governance)

Integration & Support

1. Support integration between software components and hardware systems
2. Collaborate with test and system teams to enable continuous integration

Continuous Improvement & DevOps Practices

1. Continuously improve CI/CD practices (performance, reliability, scalability)
2. Promote an "automation-first" mindset (build, test, release)
3. Reuse and enhance existing solutions (including COTS) with a focus on industrialization

Profile / Requirements

1. Strong proficiency in Python, C#, and C++
2. Proven experience in Python scripting for automation (CI/CD, testing, tooling)
3. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (preferably GitLab CI/CD)
4. Solid understanding of Git, GitLab, and software configuration management
5. Knowledge of network communication protocols

Nice to Have

1. Experience with embedded Linux
2. Familiarity with DevOps tools (Docker, pipelines, etc.)
