Astek Belgium is seeking a Senior Full-Stack AI Developer to join an innovative public-sector project. You will blend software engineering with cutting-edge AI, building robust, production-ready applications and multimodal data pipelines with a strong focus on impact.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in AI app development, expertise in React/Node.js, Python, and hands-on experience with LLMs/VLMs. Dutch at C2 level and English are required.

Are you a Senior Full-Stack Developer with a strong background in AI and a passion for turning cutting‑edge technologies into real‑world applications? We are looking for an experienced Senior Full-Stack AI Developer to join an innovative project within the public sector, focused on digitalising and improving operational interrogation and interview processes. You will work on high‑impact solutions combining Full‑Stack Development, Artificial Intelligence, LLMs and Multimodal AI, contributing directly to applications with a clear societal impact.

Your challenges will be

• Develop and maintain modern Full-Stack applications using React and Node.js.
• Integrate AI/ML models through APIs into existing and new applications.
• Build solutions leveraging LLMs and Vision Language Models (VLMs).
• Work on prompt engineering and model fine‑tuning.
• Develop AI solutions combining text, image and video data.
• Design and manage data preprocessing and multimodal data pipelines.Contribute to technical architecture, code quality and system reliability.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and AI specialists to bring innovative solutions into production.
• Take ownership of complex technical challenges and share your knowledge with other developers.

Profile

Must-have

• Minimum 5 years of experience in AI application development.
• Strong experience with Node.js and React.
• At least 1 year of experience with Python.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and/or VLMs such as GPT, Claude, LLaMA, CLIP or similar technologies.
• Experience integrating AI models through APIs.
• Solid knowledge of prompt engineering and AI model fine‑tuning.
• Experience working with text, image and/or multimodal datasets.
• Experience developing multimodal AI applications.
• Native or C2-level Dutch and good English.
• Strong software engineering skills and a hands‑on mindset.
