Senior Database Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator (Senior DBA) with deep expertise in Oracle and PostgreSQL to lead the stability, performance, and evolution of enterprise database platforms. This role plays a critical part in ensuring database reliability, security, automation, and scalability across a complex, global technology landscape, while partnering closely with engineering, infrastructure, and business teams.
As a Senior DBA, you will own the end‑to‑end administration, optimization, and operational excellence of enterprise database environments. You will lead database configuration, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning initiatives, ensuring high availability, resiliency, and compliance with security and governance standards. You will proactively monitor database platforms, identify and resolve complex performance and stability issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive long‑term remediation and optimization strategies. You will play a senior role in database architecture decisions, backup and recovery design, replication strategies, and cloud‑based database administration. This role requires close collaboration with application, infrastructure, and platform engineering teams to translate business and technical requirements into scalable database solutions. You will ensure adherence to change, incident, and problem management processes while continuously improving operational maturity. In addition, you will champion database best practices, standards, and governance across the organization, contribute to process improvements, and provide technical leadership through mentoring and guidance of junior DBAs. Participation in an on‑call rotation, including after‑hours and weekend support, is required to ensure service continuity.

You are comfortable leading moderate to large database initiatives, planning complex technical efforts, and coordinating work across multiple teams. You communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, and you are confident advocating for database best practices, standards, and governance. You value high‑quality documentation and actively contribute to maintaining and enhancing DBA processes, runbooks, and operational guidelines.
