Our client is evaluating Collibra as a strategic platform for enterprise Data Governance and Metadata Management, with an initial focus on data catalogue, technical lineage, data quality integration and governance capabilities.
We are looking for a senior, hands‑on Collibra practitioner to drive the functional POC, translate the existing Data Governance capabilities into a potential Collibra setup and help build the internal capability required for future adoption.
This is a fast-paced, delivery-oriented assignment requiring someone who can move comfortably between hands‑on platform work, operational IT and Data Governance teams, architecture discussions and senior management.
1. Drive the Collibra POC
- Structure and execute functional testing of key Collibra capabilities, including metadata management, technical lineage, catalogue, governance workflows and data quality integration.
- Translate requirements into concrete test scenarios and rapidly turn findings into conclusions and recommendations.
- Explain the platform to different tester populations, guide their testing and help drive adoption.
- Ensure the POC produces reusable insights and patterns for a potential industrialized setup.
2. Translate and challenge the existing landscape
- Rapidly understand existing capabilities through demos, documentation and discussions with subject‑matter experts.
- Separate the underlying business or functional requirement from the way it is implemented today.
- Map existing capabilities to Collibra and perform a pragmatic fit‑gap analysis.
- Apply an “adopt native before rebuild” mindset: favor standard Collibra capabilities and actively challenge unnecessary customization, complexity and legacy ways of working.
- Identify what should be adopted natively, configured, integrated, custom built, simplified or retired.
3. Shape the future setup
- Translate POC and fit‑gap findings into recommendations for a simple, scalable and maintainable Collibra setup.
- Work with Data Governance, architecture and engineering teams on integration, metadata ingestion, lineage, workflows and operating model.
- Contribute to a pragmatic transition approach while minimizing unnecessary customization and long‑term technical debt.
4. Build internal capability
- Transfer Collibra knowledge through hands‑on collaboration, coaching and remote training.
- Help new team members delivery hub progressively take ownership of platform configuration, integration, troubleshooting, evolution and maintenance.
- Contribute to establishing the foundations of a sustainable internal Collibra competence centre.
Required Profile
- Senior hands‑on Collibra practitioner with strong practical experience in enterprise implementations.
- Strong knowledge of metadata management, data catalogues, technical lineage, Data Governance and enterprise data integration.
- Able to rapidly understand unfamiliar existing solutions and translate them into underlying requirements and appropriate Collibra capabilities. Prior expertise in the incumbent platform is not required.
- Strong standard‑first / adopt‑native mindset, with the confidence to challenge historical complexity and unnecessary customization and the pragmatism to make the project happen.
- Able to combine hands‑on execution with solution‑level thinking and pragmatic decision‑making.
- Strong facilitator and communicator, comfortable working with operational teams, engineers, Data Governance staækeholders, architects and senior management.
- Autonomous, pragmatic and able to deliver tangible results at pace in an evolving environment.
- Experience in large, complex or regulated organisations is strongly preferred.
- Experience and/or knowledge of data architecture is a plus
