Grant Thornton Belgium is seeking a Senior Accountant to act as a trusted advisor for clients, preparing interim statements and annual reports for Belgian SMEs and international clients. You will manage accounts, VAT and tax returns, and participate in audits.

You will work autonomously and grow into more complex cases, with coaching to obtain ITAA credentials and opportunities to travel to clients and our offices. A strong team player with Dutch and English skills is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accountancy‑Finance.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in a consultancy or accountancy firm.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
• Dedicated to excellent customer service with a solution-oriented approach.
• Passion for figures and a hunger for knowledge.
• Flexibility to travel to customers and offices.

Responsabilités

• Act as a trusted advisor for clients, addressing tax and financial questions.
• Assist clients in drawing up interim statements and annual reports for Belgian SMEs and international clients, often on client premises.
• Maintain accounts and prepare VAT and tax returns; participate in tax audits.
• Work autonomously and progress to more complex cases as you grow.
• Engage in cross-selling as a business advisor.
• Acquire ITAA qualifications with coaching and handle increasingly challenging dossiers.

What does a Senior Accountant at Grant Thornton do?

• Acting as a ‘trusted advisor’ for your clients. They know you're always available to answer any tax and financial questions they may have.
• You support clients in drawing up interim statements and (annual) reports, both for Belgian medium-sized companies and international clients. This is regularly done on the client's premises.
• You keep the accounts for various companies and are responsible for preparing VAT and tax returns, as well as attending tax audits.
• You work autonomously and independently to complete your assignments. You will get the opportunity to work your way up to more complex cases.
• As a business advisor you pay the necessary attention to cross-selling.
• You will be coached in obtaining your ITAA and will be given increasingly challenging dossiers to look after. This will give you every opportunity to grow into the position you aspire to.
